Saturation Scout – Privacy Policy

Saturation Scout (“the App”) enables Shopify merchants to analyze the saturation or popularity of products on Amazon, AliExpress, and their own store, and to sync or import these products into their Shopify store (“the Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

From Your Shopify Account (upon installation):

  • Store Information – Store name, email, store owner name, store currency, store plan

  • Product Data – Product titles, images, descriptions, variants, and inventory (to run saturation analysis and sync products)

  • Order Data (Optional) – May be accessed if saturation is based on order metrics (used only if enabled by merchant)

  • Theme Permissions – To embed or display product insights (if required)

From External Marketplaces (via Merchant Authorization):

  • Amazon or AliExpress Data – Product ASINs, titles, seller counts, pricing, and review metrics (pulled via scraping or public APIs where permitted)

From You or Other Users with Admin Access:

  • Merchant’s name, email address, and billing info

  • Actions performed in the App interface (e.g., sync, check saturation, import product)

From Store Visitors (only if saturation info is exposed on frontend – optional):

  • IP address, browser, geolocation, device type, and interactions (if merchant chooses to show public saturation indicators)

We collect data via your Shopify account, public marketplace pages, or the following technologies:

  • Cookies – Used to track admin session or product sync actions

  • Log Files – Collect IP, browser type, ISP, timestamps, and request paths

  • Web Beacons / Pixels / Tags – Used to analyze UI behavior or interaction with reports/sync tools

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use collected data to:

  • Analyze product saturation (Amazon, AliExpress, or internal store data)

  • Enable one-click sync/import of analyzed products to your store

  • Allow filtering, viewing, exporting of saturation metrics

  • Communicate with you about sync statuses, errors, or updates

  • Monitor app usage to optimize performance and provide support

We do not use your data or customer data for marketing, reselling, or any unrelated purposes.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We do not sell or misuse your data. Data may be shared only with:

  • Shopify Inc. – For secure API access and store integration

  • Cloud Hosting Providers – (e.g., AWS or similar) for storing sync/saturation results securely

  • Public Marketplace APIs or scraping infrastructure – To collect saturation data from Amazon/AliExpress

We may disclose data as required by law, such as in response to subpoenas, court orders, or legal claims, or to protect our legal rights.

Behavioural Advertising

We do not use or share any information for behavioral or targeted advertising.

Your Rights (for European Residents)

If you are based in the EU, you have the right to:

  • Access personal data we hold about you

  • Request correction, updates, or deletion of your data

To exercise your rights, contact us below. Please note that data may be transferred outside the EU (e.g., to the U.S. or Canada) for processing by our systems or third-party hosting services.

Data Retention

  • Store data and sync configurations: Retained while the App is installed

  • Saturation analysis results: Retained for up to 30 days unless pinned or saved

  • Upon uninstallation, all store-related and saturation data is deleted within 30 days, unless retention is required by law

Changes

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect updates to features, compliance with laws, or changes in how we use data. Any changes will be posted here and take effect immediately upon publishing.
